WASHINGTON, DC - Addis Dimts Radio, the first independent radio in the Diaspora, will on October 13, celebrate its 15th anniversary. Renowned artists will perform on the occasion as a tribute to their colleague, Abebe Belew, who successfully run the radio for 15 odd years.This pioneering individual whose radio station was the first to be jammed by the Meles Zenawi regime has immensely contributed to the birth and growth of other independent medias. Despite enormous services towards fostering unity among Ethiopians in the Diaspora, Addis Dimts is at the mercy of Ethiopian listeners anywhere in the world. It is time to chip in, and keep this powerful radio run into the future.
Addis Dimts needs about 400 regular subscribers who can donate $10.00 a month. Ten dollars a month is money what we spent for 3 tall lattes a day. Can we keep Addis Dimts Radio running by donating this small money every month? It is very, very possible.
