UDJ holds successful protest in Adama/Nazret ESAT News September 10, 2013

The Unity for Democracy and Justice (UDJ) on a public demonstration it held in Adama (Nazret) town on September 8, 2013 has condemned the human rights abuses committed by the government and also called the people to rise for a true change.
The protesters have echoed the following slogans: “our questions are constitutional, we are fed up of lies, employment is our right, the anti-terrorism proclamation is itself terrorising, government should financially support us financially, talking cannot eliminate poverty talks, Reeyot Alemu is not a terrorist, release all political prisoners” and many other similar slogans were heard.
Dr. Hailu Araya, who recently resigned from being UDJ’s spokesperson, spoke on the protest that saw the participation of a large number of the local population including university students.
Although officials of the town have been attempting to disrupt the protest since the past week, the Party was able to successfully finish the demonstration.
UDJ’s three month campaign will be completed with a public demonstration on September 15, 2013 in Addis Abeba.
